SESSION ALBUM

With so many great photos to choose from, how can you pick just one? Clients are always telling me it’s hard to choose just one or two images to frame when there are so many from the shoot that they love. So I’ve created the Session Album, a classic, leather bound matted album that holds 20, or 30, 5x7 prints, one to a page.

These make a great gift for grandparents or other relatives, and are a great way to display any photo session or Cherub Collection.

At a significant savings over the cost of prints if purchased separately, the Session Album is available in black or saddle brown, with up to three lines of custom embossing on the front. Duplicate albums are available at a discount.

FLASHES OF HOPE

I am very proud to work with Flashes of Hope, a nonprofit organization that works with professional photographers who volunteer their time to take photographs of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Beautiful black and white prints are then sent to the families, free of charge. Their goal is to “help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it. For families of terminally ill children, it’s especially important to have a portrait that preserves forever the beauty, grace and dignity of their child.”

After receiving prints from a recent shoot that I did at a local Atlanta hospital, one mother said “they are the most beautiful pictures. I’m so glad I had it done. It’s a wonderful gift during an otherwise painful situation.”

RISING STAR OUTREACH – INDIA

I have recently completed my third trip to India to document the work of Rising Star Outreach, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to eradicate the scourge of leprosy in India and to improve the lives of those who are affected by it. RSO is committed to not only wiping out the disease, but to helping leprosy-affected people to live with dignity and to achieve self-sufficiency.

I have seen with my own eyes the amazing work that RSO is doing to positively change the lives of many people who had previously been cast aside and forgotten. For the first time in their lives, many of the adults in leprosy colonies are able to hold their heads up and feel good about themselves. And for the first time in their lives, they can support themselves and their families with meaningful work – selling fish, trimming beards or crafting beautiful wood furniture – rather than begging on the streets.

With the help of Rising Star Outreach, the leprosy-affected adults and their children are able to break free of the stigma of someone born in a leprosy colony and stop the cycle of disease, malnutrition and humiliation that has pervaded in India for generations.

But their work is far from over. And that is why I have volunteered to document the work they are doing and to show the work that still needs to be done. Much progress has been made since RSO was founded in 2001, but it is a long and complicated process.

All you have to do is look into the faces of these beautiful children and know that it is a goal worth pursuing. Note: Some of the photos of leprosy-affected people are graphic and may not be suitable for everyone. For more information, please visit www.risingstaroutreach.org.
